This workshop is aimed at innovative and technology pre-start-up businesses or SMEs who have been registered for less than 12 months who are based in Coventry or Warwickshire.
During the session we will discuss some of the key things that you need to think about from developing a business idea to the skills that will be vital for making your new business a success.
Topics will include:
- Developing your Business idea, including identifying a problem, solution and fit, the importance of research, focus groups, connecting with your customers and understanding the competition
- Business Skills focusing on how to pitch your idea and what makes a good business entrepreneur
- Finance, including key aspects such as covering profits vs cashflow and market pricing.
- Business Planning, looking at the importance of a one page Business Plan
- The Lean Business Model Canvas with focus on identifying the problem, solution and fit

Paul is a Business Start-up Advisor at CUE Business Solutions, supporting Technological and Innovative pre-start and new business in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. His hands-on approach through one to one mentoring and workshop delivery are designed to enhance and grow business ideas into realistic and sustainable operational businesses. In addition, Paul has eight years’ experience in finance and portfolio business management within the banking sector that enabled him to gain expert skills in understanding and supporting businesses.
