Are you unsure what the cloud is, or whether you should be using it? This talk will help you to cut through the hype and uncover the bigger picture hidden behind the cloud.

These days, many companies are transitioning to running software in the cloud. But before following any trend, the key consideration should be; 'what is right for MY business?'

With the upcoming replacement of the Data Protection Act, data storage needs to be a key consideration for businesses. Organisations may face considerable fines if they do not carefully consider the placement and security of data. This event will support you in considering your security obligations, inside and outside of the cloud.

Topics covered will include:

·      How the cloud works

·      Cloud and data protection (DPB / GDPR)

·      Managing the risks of the cloud

·      Making sense of cloud acronyms

·      Benefits & drawbacks - weighing up the options

The event will be held in a globally connected data centre, initially built as a secure bunker, and will provide a unique opportunity to see what the cloud really looks like.  By the end of the event, you should have clarity as to whether or not the cloud is right for you, and understand how and when it works for a business.

OpusVL are hosting this informative event as part of their technology week within the CW business festival.
